  In 1947, India gained its independence a historic moment that marked the end of centuries of colonial rule. It has now been 78 years since that dawn of freedom. Yet, one question continues to echo in our collective conscience: Are we truly free today? Freedom is often understood as the absence of physical or political control. But real freedom  the kind that sustains a nation and its people goes far beyond that. True freedom begins in the mind. When our Constitution was adopted, it gave us the promise of a nation built on the ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity . The Preamble itself declares India to be a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic   a vision of a country where every citizen can think, speak, and act without fear.
